SerenDestiny #26: Aware Appreciation = The Gratitude Mood

“If the only prayer you ever said was ‘Thank you;’ that would be enough.” – Meister Ekhart

I woke up this morning to sunshine.

I woke up this morning to sunshine. Sam Horn

The more I filled my heart and soul with gratitude for the sun the more “spring” came into my step

Aaaahhh. After months of wintry snow, sleet and icy streets, it was oh-so-welcome.

The following thought came to mind and caused a smile.

They don’t call it “Hope springs eternal for nothing.”

I celebrated what I hope is the beginning of spring with a walk around the lake.

As I strided (strode?) along the path, the following “poem” flowed into and through my mind.

The more I filled my heart and soul with gratitude for the sun, my health, this blessed day and all the many good things coming into my life; the more “spring” came into my step and the better I felt.

This is a characteristic of SerenDestineers.

SerenDestineers have sunny dispositions. Not in a Pollyanna way. They simply choose to look at the bright side of things and fill and focus their mind on what’s right in their world.

I now call that The Gratitude Mood.

“Aware appreciation” becomes a precedent that produces even more to be grateful for.

On this day, February 23, 2011, I am conscioulsy choosing to make “Aware Appreciation” and “The Gratitude Mood” my default approach to life. How about you?

The Gratitude Mood

When you continue to focus on somethink (intentional)

it becomes increasingly easy to continue to focus on that –

which turns it into your default.

A default is an automatic attitude or action we do without thinking.

Default behaviors and beliefs either serve us or sabotage us.

Negative behavior/belief defaults bring us down (literally and figuratively).

Positive behavior/belief defaults boost us up.

So, be conscious of what you focus on because it determines your ever-present state of mind.

If you consciously choose to allow in joy and embrace feelings of appreciation,

You will notice all that’s right with your world.

This will align you with all that’s good

which creates a habitual vibrational groove of well-being and abundance

that becomes your “set point.”

This set point of well-being and abundance is called The Gratitude Mood.

The Gratitude Mood is the most spiritually beneficial default you can create

because it means you walk through life in a perpetual state of awareness

of the natural law that states that

every day is yet another blessed opportunity for earthly experience,

something to be marveled over, explored, noticed and deeply appreciated.

Look around right now.

See what you have to be thankful for. Savor it. Roll it around in your mind. Imprint it.

Don’t you feel better? That’s the Gratitude Mood.
